1. Introduction

Welcome to Fasting Path (“App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application available on Apple App Store and Google Play, including any related features, content, or services offered by Fasting Path (collectively, the “Service”).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register for or use Fasting Path, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

First and Last Name — used to personalize your in-app experience and account.
Email Address — used for account management and, if you opt in, to send you our newsletter and promotional communications.
Phone Number (Optional) — if you choose to provide one during onboarding, it is stored on your account so that we may, in the future, contact you about your account or send fasting-related reminders. Providing a phone number is entirely optional; you may use the App without one. You may request that we delete your stored phone number at any time by contacting us at FastingPath.Support@gmail.com.
Fasting Activity & Journal Entries — durations of your fasts, mood and energy ratings, personal notes, and goals you set. This information is primarily stored on your device and is used to power the in-app fasting timer, history, and journal features.

2.2 Photo Library (Optional)

With your explicit permission, Fasting Path may access your device’s photo library solely to allow you to upload a profile picture. The Service does not access your device’s camera. This access is entirely optional and requires your affirmative consent at the time of the request. You may revoke this permission at any time through your device’s operating system settings. We do not store or process images beyond their use as a profile photo.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, certain data is collected automatically through analytics and crash-reporting technologies:

Usage Data — screens viewed, features used, session duration, and product interaction events (such as starting or completing a fast, viewing the paywall, or subscribing).
Device Information — device type, operating system version, app version, and a randomly generated device identifier we create on first launch.
Log Data — IP address, timestamps, and referring URLs (collected by our infrastructure providers).
Analytics Data — product-analytics events collected via PostHog using a pseudonymous identifier. We do not send your name, email, or phone number to PostHog.
Crash & Performance Data — collected via Sentry. This includes stack traces, error context, navigation breadcrumbs, and app performance traces. Sentry may also receive a Sentry-generated install identifier for your device. We do not currently send your name, email, or phone number to Sentry; if this changes in the future we will update this policy accordingly.

2.4 Payment Information

Fasting Path offers in-app purchases processed exclusively through Apple App Store In-App Payments and Google Play In-App Payments. We do not directly collect, store, or process your payment card details. All payment transactions are handled by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies and terms of service. We receive only a transaction confirmation and the relevant subscription or purchase status from these platforms.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To create and manage your account and provide the core features of the App.
To personalize your experience within Fasting Path, including displaying your name and profile picture.
To send you our newsletter and marketing communications, where you have opted in to receive them.
To send transactional and service-related communications, such as account updates, security alerts, and support responses.
To process in-app purchases and manage subscription status via Apple and Google payment systems.
To analyze usage and improve the App’s functionality, performance, and user experience through PostHog product analytics and Sentry crash reporting.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
To prevent fraud, protect security, and respond to legal requests.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers — We engage trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating the App (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery). These providers are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and to use it only as directed by us.
Analytics & Diagnostics Partners — PostHog processes pseudonymous product-analytics events under its own privacy policy. Sentry processes crash reports, performance traces, and navigation breadcrumbs under its own privacy policy. Both providers are contractually required to use this data only to provide the analytics and diagnostics services we have engaged them for.
Payment Processors — Apple and Google process in-app payment transactions directly. Their privacy practices govern the handling of your payment data.
Legal Requirements — We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fasting Path, our users, or others.
Business Transfers — In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or in-app notice of any change in ownership.

5. Opt-In Newsletter & Communications

Our newsletter is strictly opt-in. We will only send marketing emails to you after you have affirmatively checked the opt-in box at registration or in your account settings. You may withdraw your consent and unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by:

Clicking the “Unsubscribe” link included in every marketing email.
Updating your communication preferences in your Fasting Path account settings.
Emailing us directly at FastingPath.Support@gmail.com.

Please note that even after unsubscribing from marketing emails, you may still receive transactional or service-related communications necessary to maintain your account.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with or may link to third-party services. These parties have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review:

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services and encourage you to read their policies before providing them with your information.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

How long we retain your data: We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Specifically:

Account information (name, email, phone number, profile) is retained until you delete your account.
Fasting activity, journal entries, and badges are retained until you delete your account.
Group memberships and chat messages are retained until you delete your account or leave the group.
Analytics events (PostHog) are retained for up to 7 years under PostHog’s default retention, in pseudonymous form.
Crash and performance data (Sentry) are retained for 90 days under Sentry’s default retention.
Backup snapshots of our database may persist for up to 30 days after deletion as part of our standard infrastructure backup cycle, after which they are permanently overwritten.

How to delete your data: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time by opening the App, going to the Profile tab, scrolling to the Account section, and tapping the red Delete Account button. After confirmation, your account is removed from our servers immediately and all local data on your device is wiped. You may also request deletion by emailing FastingPath.Support@gmail.com with the subject line “Delete My Account”; we will process such requests within 30 days.

When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. We may retain limited information after account deletion only as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include, without limitation, encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and secure hosting environments. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

Fasting Path is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 where required by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at FastingPath.Support@gmail.com and we will promptly delete such information.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

This section applies to residents of California and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy. It is provided in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA), and their implementing regulations.

10.1 Categories of Personal Information Collected

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA:

10.2 Purposes for Collection

We collect and use personal information for the business and commercial purposes described in Sections 3 and 4 of this Privacy Policy, including providing and improving the Service, processing payments, sending marketing communications (with consent), and product analytics and crash reporting.

10.3 Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not use advertising networks or ad SDKs in the App. The only third parties that receive personal information are the service providers listed in Section 6 (RevenueCat, PostHog, Sentry, and our payment processors), each of which is contractually limited to providing the service we have engaged them for.

10.4 Sensitive Personal Information

Under CPRA, certain categories of personal information are classified as “sensitive.” The only sensitive personal information we collect is photo library access for profile pictures, which requires your explicit opt-in consent. We use sensitive personal information only for the purpose for which it was collected — to display your profile photo. We do not use sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics about you.

10.5 Your California Privacy Rights

As a California resident, you have the following rights:

Right to Know — You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
Right to Delete — You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law.
Right to Correct — You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing — You have the right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information with third parties.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — You may request that we limit our use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to perform the services you requested.
Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service.
Right to Data Portability — You have the right to receive your personal information in a portable, readily usable format where technically feasible.

10.6 How to Submit a California Privacy Request

To exercise any of the rights listed above, please submit a verifiable consumer request by emailing us at:

Include your full name, the email address associated with your account, and a description of your request. We will respond within 45 days of receipt. If we require more time (up to an additional 45 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.

Only you, or a person legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a request on behalf of your minor child.

10.7 Shine the Light Law

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 also permits California residents to request and obtain from us, once per calendar year, information about any personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 11. Other U.S. State Privacy Laws

Residents of other U.S. states with applicable privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and others) may have similar rights regarding their personal information. We extend the following rights to users in applicable states, to the extent required by law:

Right to access and know what personal information we have collected.
Right to delete personal information.
Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or profiling.
Right to appeal our decisions regarding your privacy rights request.

12. Your Choices & Account Controls

Account Information — You may review and update your account information at any time through the App’s profile settings.
Newsletter — You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking “Unsubscribe” in any marketing email or adjusting notification preferences in the App.
Phone Number — If you provided a phone number during onboarding, you may request its deletion at any time by emailing FastingPath.Support@gmail.com.
Photos — You can revoke photo library access at any time via your device’s privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Fasting Path; Android: Settings → Apps → Fasting Path → Permissions).
Analytics & Crash Reporting — To request that we stop processing your analytics and diagnostics data (PostHog and Sentry), or to request deletion of any data already collected, please email us at FastingPath.Support@gmail.com.
Account Deletion (In-App) — You may delete your account and all associated data directly in the App at any time. Open the Profile tab, scroll to the Account section, tap the red Delete Account button, and confirm. Your account will be permanently removed from our servers and all local data on your device will be wiped. You may also email us at FastingPath.Support@gmail.com if you prefer to request deletion by email.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and, where required by law, by providing a more prominent notice (such as an in-app notification or email). Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
